Babooska Woman found her way home. I was putting wool away and suddenly she was on the floor. I’ve vacuumed that floor in front of those shelves several times since I’ve been home from camp. Where did she come from? I put her on the dresser and the next day she was in the middle of the bed! I keep telling myself that it was Gracie, the cat, who moved her around. . .

The holding line is the dark line in the upper left forehead (our left not hers). If you compare the Part 4 photo with the Part 5 you can see the difference. The easiest way to view this is to view the series. Click on “How to Hook Faces” in the Read from the Beginning Section in the right sidebar.

Cindi, Thank you for the thorough and easily understood instructions on how to hook Queen Anne’s Lace. It is a flower I have always loved (not a weed in my book/garden)and now I can hook it. My nephew’s wedding was enhanced by buckets (yes, buckets wrapped in white wrapping paper) of tall, plentiful Queen Anne’s Lace I was detailed to gather from the roadsides of Maine. Hi Cindy, your lesson on how to hook a face is very helpful. In part 5 you stated:

“I removed the one holding line I had hooked in the first step because the shape of the line was not quite right.”

In your first step you have no indication of this. Where did you put the holding line?

I wrote Townsend Industries last week and a representative there e-mailed back and said the company is looking for a buyer for the cutter line, so all hope is not lost. Some entity may take over and continue to manufacture the cutters. Nothing official has been announced yet.

I am a longtime central Iowa resident familiar with the Townsend corporation and I have loved and admired hooked rugs for years. I took my first and only workshop at Castle in the Clouds in 2005 — the last year it ran because Ramona Maddox’s husband died the next year and she passed away not long after that.

I made a purple tulips stained glass-style piece in #3 cut with Carol Kasera, and I have given it to my mother.

I’m hoping to do some more hooking this summer. I’ll give you my e-mail address because I’d love to receive your newsletter.

Love this rug, my son is a Seabee and will be deploying to Afganistan in August. I would love to make this for him while he is there and give it to him when he returns. You did a wonderful job on it.

your right about needing therapy if you start buying mac’s. i have to slap myself every time i walk by a apple store. because if i don’t i will buy a tablet and one of those new i phones with the web cam on the front. wow;)
